Ms. Kinoshita, during her business trip to the United States for about two weeks from March 7 (Tuesday) had an opportunity to give a lecture in Japanese to the students at Castro Valley High School in San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. This school is a mammoth school with about 130 teachers and 3000 students, and the ethnicity of the students is diverse.

Foreign language classes are offered as elective subjects, not compulsory courses at the school, however, those students who are aiming for the admission to UC affiliated university chose to study a foreign language because the university requires three years of foreign language study. Foreign language classes can be selected from French, German, Spanish, Japanese and American Sign Language under a World Language department.

The Japanese language course has been started over ten years ago, and the number of students seems to be increasing year by year.

In the lecture of Ms. Kinoshita, the students actively engaged in discussion and the true value of One World Language Services was shared among the students.
